About the artist

Calvin Hu is an active solo and chamber musician currently based in New York and San Francisco. A native of San Francisco, Calvin started at the San Francisco Conservatory Preparatory Division and then continued his undergraduate studies with Inna Faliks at UCLA. He recently finished his Master’s in Music at Stony Brook University studying with Christina Dahl where his piano trio has been working closely with Gilbert Kalish in his chamber intensive program. Calvin was this year’s recipient of the Suffolk Piano Teachers Foundation Scholarship and is currently on faculty as a chamber coach at the Young Artist’s Program at Stony Brook University, where he is pursuing his Doctorate in Musical Arts.
