The Ross McKee Piano Competition recognizes and supports outstanding young pianists from across Northern California.
Open to serious high school-age musicians, the Competition provides performance opportunities, artistic recognition, financial awards, and career development experiences that help prepare young artists for the next stage of their musical journey.
Each year, a distinguished panel of judges and professional musicians selects up to four Ross McKee Laureates. In addition to receiving a $2,000 cash award, Laureates participate in a public showcase concert and receive additional career development support through the Ross McKee Foundation.
For the 2026 Competition cycle, the Foundation is pleased to introduce several exciting additions, including a newly commissioned required composition, documentary film production opportunities highlighting participating artists, and a new Laureates Showcase Concert partnership with Music at Kohl Mansion.
